DUNGONNELL WAY

This week it’s the ‘Dungonnell Way’ which takes in the Dungonnell Dam, Glenariff Forest Park and Skerry Road East.  The walk is listed as being 9.5 miles but we’ll be starting and finishing in the Forest Park which adds a little bit extra!  However, the walking is on hard surface the whole way, either forest tracks or tarmac road, which will make the going easier and we should finish in about 4½ hours. The Skerry Road is mentioned on the WalkNI website as ‘probably one of the most attractive, but least used roads in the whole of Northern Ireland’!

Details of what you need to bring and other information can be found on the website at www.walkantrimhills.com.  This is also a ‘dog friendly’ walk - althought there are a couple of stiles which need to be negotiated!

Meet at Ballygally car park at 10.00 am. or Glenariff Forest main Car Park near the visitors centre and café at 10.45 approx.
